Noida Authority accused of focusing on realty

Published on by 7bighagroup

The Noida authority’s plan to save real estate projects by promising developed land plots to farmers in construction-rich areas has angered the “less-threatening” protestors.
Noida chairman Balvinder Kumar had promised rehabilitation benefits to farmers in areas surrounding sector 74
and along the Noida-Expressway. Big-ticket construction activities are on in these two belts. But farmers whose land was acquired years ago want plots first. The authority doesn’t have a sufficient land bank in those areas. The chairman has said land, if needed, will be acquired in Greater Noida.

“Those farmers whose land was acquired first should get developed land plots first. The areas where real estate activities are on had been acquired in 2007 and after that period,” said Ashok Chauhan, a farmer leader. “Those farmers whose land was acquired between 1997 and 2007 should be given developed plots first,” he added.

“We have not received any written assurance from the authority. We doubt if the authority will stick to its promise of regularising abadi land. Farmers will launch an agitation afresh if their demands are not met as promised,” said Pappu Tyagi of Gejha.
